Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.
The term "Artificial Intelligence" was coined by John McCarthy in 1956 at the Dartmouth Conference, the first conference devoted to the subject.
AI has spread from academic research labs to become a pervasive technology in modern society, powering everything from search engines and recommendation systems to autonomous vehicles and generative art tools.
